June 8, 2019

SEPULTURA's Andreas Kisser joined Steve Vai on stage on June 6 at the Rio Montreux Jazz Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Professionally filmed video footage of his appearance can be seen below (courtesy of Sepultura Community YouTube channel).

After the show, Kisser took to his Instagram to post a few pictures of the performance along with the following caption: "What a night! Thank you @stevevaihimself for the honor to share the stage with you, truly a dream come true. I listen to your music since Zappa, Alcatraz, David Lee Roth, Whitesnake and of course your solo albums, whatever I do on my music I have some Vai on it somehow. Thank you for your generosity, for your music, your knowledge, your vibe, your everything! I will never forget this. You are the best! Long live Vai!"

Back in May 2015, Vai joined SEPULTURA on stage at the Rock In Rio USA festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.

SEPULTURA will enter the studio in August to begin recording their new album for a tentative February 2020 release via Nuclear Blast. The follow-up to 2017's "Machine Messiah" will once again be recorded at Fascination Street Studios in ร–rebro, Sweden with producer Jens Bogren, who has previously worked with SOILWORK, OPETH, KATATONIA, AMON AMARTH, KREATOR and DRAGONFORCE, among others.
